Arcandor (who has stake in Thomas Cook) files for bankruptcy

The German retailer Arcandor has filed for bankruptcy protection, putting tens of thousands of jobs at risk.Arcandor employs around 50,000 staff in Germany and also has a stake in the travel firm, Thomas Cook.
