Rise in the number of working women could improve the GDP of the UK and Japan

Increasing the labour participation rates of women in the UK could lead to an increase in GDP by up to a staggering 10%. This growth could be achieved by encouraging the number of women wishing to provide their labour (or increase the provision of their labour) to the same level as men.

Japan - This month, prime minister Shinzo Abe will begin unveiling Japan’s “national growth strategy. This will include : boosting female employment. Already, Abe has called on corporations to have at least one female executive per company. The government also plans to open 250,000 daycares over the next few years.
